How the guides on this site get written, checked, and corrected.
How topics are chosen
Guides are written around the questions people actually bring to a speed test result : what a number means, why it might be lower than expected, and what to do next. We prioritize topics that connect directly to the metrics this site measures (download, upload, idle latency, jitter, and loaded latency) over broad networking trivia that doesn't help someone act on their own result.
Sources
Technical claims are checked against, in order of preference: protocol and standards documentation, official platform or provider documentation (including Cloudflare's own speed-test documentation), and well-established, widely-corroborated networking reference material. Guides avoid citing other speed-test marketing pages as a source of technical fact.
Accuracy review
Live Internet Speed is currently a one-person project: Subham Sharma writes, reviews, and publishes every guide. Each one is checked against the site's own measurement methodology before publishing, so the practical advice it gives (like what to check before testing, or what a metric affects) stays consistent with how this specific tool actually works, rather than describing a generic or hypothetical speed test.
AI assistance
Some drafting, editing, and code implementation on this site is done with AI assistance (Claude, by Anthropic). Where AI is used, a person reviews the output for technical accuracy before it's published rather than publishing it unreviewed. This disclosure applies to the site's guides and editorial copy generally, not to any single article individually.
Corrections
If you spot something inaccurate, outdated, or unclear in a guide, please get in touch with the page and the issue. Corrections are made directly in the article rather than appended as a footnote, since the goal is an accurate page, not a visible track record. Substantive corrections update the page's content; this doesn't currently include a separate visible changelog.
Advertising and sponsorship
Live Internet Speed does not currently run advertising, affiliate links, or sponsored content of any kind. If that changes, this page will be updated to disclose it and to explain how sponsored material is kept separate from and clearly distinguished from editorial guidance.
